The Audi A8 sedan and Q7 SUV are now available in Vietnam
Mention Vietnam and most people would imagine dingy streets crowded with bicycles and smoke-spewing mopeds. And yet, some of the latest luxury cars in the world are now also making their way to Vietnam. Audi is one such luxury car brand that’s recently opened its first dealership in the country, in Ho Chi Minh city.
The Automotive Asia group has been appointed the sole importer and distributor of Audi cars in Vietnam. To begin with, two Audi models – the A8 4.2L sedan and the Q7 4.2L TFSI SUV – will be available in Vietnam, with more models, including the A4, A5 and Q5, being added to the lineup next year.
The new Audi showroom in Ho Chi Minh city is spread over a 1,600sq.m facility, and is equipped to provide full spares and service backup to Audi customers.
‘The developing markets of Southeast Asia represent a great opportunity for us. This year we will sell around 40% more cars than in 2007. For the next few years I anticipate constantly high growth rates of 20% to 30% in the region,’ said Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the board of management for marketing and sales at Audi.
